  a.  All questions are compulsory.
  b.  The question paper consists of 30 questions divided into four sections A, B, C and D. The section A
       contains 1-8 questions of 1mark each, the section B consists of 9-18 questions of 2 marks each,
       the section C has19-27 questions of 3 marks each and  section D includes 28- 30 question of
       5 marks each.
  c.   There is no overall choice. However, internal choice has been provided in one question of 2
        marks each, in one question of 3 marks each and in all the three questions of 5 marks each. You are
        to attempt only one of the two alternatives  in case of an internal choice question.
  d.   Wherever necessary, the diagrams drawn should be neat, bold and properly labeled.

 12.  What is fungi imperfecti? Give out line classification of kingdom fungi.

        (iii)  What is cork cambium? Give the name of a tissue formed by cork cambium.

30.  (i)  Every time fertilization occurs, the chromosome number is doubled. Yet the chromosome number

      (ii)  Describe the sequence of the events in meiosis I. What are the special events of homologous
             chromosomes during meiosis?
     (iii)   A cell has 10 metacentric, 10 acrocentric.10 submetacentic and 10 telocentric chromosomes.
              Give number of V and I shape chromatids in anaphase of same cell.

  The two lamellar model can not explain the permeability of plasma membrane and passing of  
  water through it. How is it explained by the fluid mosaic model?
  Give the name and draw the structure of a cell organelle that has double unit membrane.

PSA(PROBLEM SOLVING ASSESSMENT)

            WHAT  IS PSA? (PROBLEM SOLVING ASSESSMENT)

 It is a widely acknowledged fact that research and analytical skills, ability to apply basic concepts of different subjects, solve application based problems in Mathematics and Science, comprehend and analyse written text and effective communication are the skills which ensure success in Higher Studies and Professional areas. These dimensions of 21st Century life skills will greatly assist learners in acquiring higher order thinking skills such as Problem Solving and Decision Making. The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) is planning to initiate “Problem Solving Assessment” (CBSE- PSA) for students of Classes IX and XI from the second term of session 2012-13. The board has decided to replace one of the four formative assessments (FA) with a problem solving assessment (PSA) for Classes IX and XI.  The first test will be conducted on January-February 2013 for Class IX. The test will  involve questions to test a student’s problem-solving ability. The PSA is not a new test but it will replace the already existing pen-paper test in the FA. The only difference will be that PSA will be conducted by the Board in the respective schools and the evaluation will be done by the Board. The exam will be conducted on the same day and the question paper will be provided by the Board. This 90-minute test will have nothing from the textbooks. It will comprise of questions from mathematics and an English passage from old essays or contemporary fiction. The new criterion will fit into the third and fourth formative assessments. The fourth assessment includes multiple choice questions, projects and unit tests. All these will be replaced by a PSA that tests a student’s knowledge on co-scholastic situations. Registration for this Assessment will be done separately by the Board and detailed circular will be issued before the start of the second term i.e. September 2012. 

          CBSE PSA for Class XI PSA 

 The features of the ^Problem Solving Assessment’ (CBSE-PSA) are as follows: - It will be compulsory for all students of Class XI and carry 90 marks. There will be 60 items of MCQ type. There is no specific syllabus for PSA. It will assess the following areas:-
1. Quantitative Reasoning (found in mathematics, science and technology) 
2.Qualitative Reasoning (found in humanities, arts and social sciences) Language Conventions
 The items will incorporate aspects of 21 Century Skills (Creative Thinking, Decision Making, Critical Thinking, Problem Solving, and Communication) that lead to success in University studies. They should be able to assess student’s ability to process, interpret and use information rather than assess student’s prior subject matter knowledge. The Assessment will contain items that will assess written expression, including grammar and usage, vocabulary in context and passage-completion. The items will be able to assess students’ ability. The test items will be so designed that they will also help in improving scores within the core school subjects as the Problem Solving Assessment test items are designed to improve generic and higher order thinking skills. All items will be prepared in Hindi and English. The ‘Problem Solving Assessment’ (CBSE-PSA) will be done during the month of January – February 2013 for students of Class XI. The Class XI students will get a certificate on the ‘Problem Solving Assessment’ (CBSE- PSA). There will be no separate time tables or periods for teaching or practice of PSA in schools. The quantitative domain of the CBSE – PSA would make comparatively modest domains on mathematical knowledge but would emphasize logical and numerical reasoning and use of basic mathematical knowledge.

LAST!!!

small pieces i collected every day,                               
everyday i tried to build it,protect it in hope to carry it all the way.
  destiny had   different thoughts and plans,
 i never knew , the castle i build/wanted to build had a very short life span.
an evil,black n strong storm blew,
everything i made with my tiny hands it threw.
nothing i was left with, but the pieces scattered,
 & in a second my world seemed to end and my dreams shattered.
there was a loss of trust ,logic's and hope,
the situation had become so difficult to cope.
but as said,
the specialty of bad times is that it also passes away,
and life moved on its path in its own way.
i did forget, most probably tried to forget,
or  maybe i haven't forgot  yet.
& for this reason today again, my eyes are wet.
not because of the thoughts that why , how it happened or what was wrong or right,
i am teary just by thinking that sand falls down more when you hold it tight :(
and i want to throw away all the heaviness of my heart in form of these tears,
and want to escape from all my fears....
want a relief from all my worries,
and want to throw down the heavy load of redemption that my heart carries.
 and to forget everything , to forget every sigh,
i just need one last SORRY  and one last  CRY.
and i hope tears falling down on in this rain
will never ever give me pain,
again!!!

see,exprience-write!! (social evils)

well, problem and expriences by one forces him/her to write. write on the social setup and the social problems people face. from last 2 months i am noticing a a new type of social problem for me.it is not new but earlier i never noticed it or knew much about it. the issue that i am going to discuss today is road teasing or generally what we call eve teasing!
well, at this point we all knew what road teasing actually is! my main motive here is not to tell what is road teasing or how it happens but to go down the root of cause and find its solutions.
                                                                     on my research done on girls at my coaching center (that generally come by their own convenience all alone ). to my surprise out of 20 girls i researched, not a single was there who can speak that she was not harassed at road in one or the other form !
road teasing generally includes vulgar comments, mental or physical harassment by the boys/men.and this evil is like dowry system or female  foeticide  and, is creating a big hinderence in growth and development of girls.
      if female foeticide is the root evil.then eve teasing and dowry system are the main sub evils that follow it. as for instance if girl is water and dam is the female foeticide (it blocks water,llly female foeticide blocks birth of girl) then eve teasing and dowry system are big canals in the way of water! until and unless these hindrances are not removed the water cannot reach its destination. either these hindrances we have to remove or the water had to overflow!
and to come out of it there are 2 options. either girls had to be strong or this evil have to be permanently removed !but this is also the point the girls are physically not as stronger as boys. they can be strong mentally, but what if the water overflows ones head?  and one cant fight the adversities all alone. its not the matter of one but the repeating stories for all girls!
and this evil needs a quick action and eradicate it from society.while going through various websites to find solution for eve teasing from http://www.squidoo.com/eve-teasing the following points :-
  Do not move in a deserted area- It can be harmful to move in deserted area, as there is few people to help. So it is better to avoid go in deserted places alone.

- Always have some weapon or Chilly Powder in your purse- Here weapon means not arms. It can be small knife or scissor. It is better to carry chilly powder in purse. If the teaser is trying to touch, we can spray it in their eyes.

- Always have police number and family's number in speed dial of cell phones- It is the most necessary thing. One must keep their family or friends number in always first dial call. So that they can be informed without wasting even a single second.

- Try to avoid parties and office at late night- Of course parties can be avoided, but what about the office. Some offices have night shifts. In this case, it is better to take office cab and if possible go home with friends in group. Even your own vehicle is not safe as anyone can chase and create nuisance.

- While walking on road, always beware of those behind you- Sometimes teasers follow you and tries to get an opportunity for deserted place. So beware who is behind you. If you feel someone is chasing you, you can stop and change your way or to call your family or friend or can take help of police.

These are only a few ways through which we can prevent eve-teasing. The worst lacuna of this problem is that it can be proved legally. So there are not many rules and regulations to stop it legally.even if they are they are not follwed Even then through our attention and awareness we can prevent it to some extent.

From different angle!

when tears come rolling down the eyes,its not the time to shatter,
but find where things went wrong and next time do much better!

the roads of life are not meant for falling ,sitting and standing still,
but fall,rise and walk destination is reached till!!!

fever doesnot come to make us ill,
but to check potential of body to fight germs and make'em kill !!

in a race or game we loose not because we are nothing,
just dont win just because we were just l'll bit less than everything!!!

friends love us. if one betrays ,
he/she is not our enemy.but for strong will power to face harsh conditions he/she prays!!

the things we love/like, we dont always get,
maybe we dont deserve it or its not right time yet!!

we don't get punishment  because teacher/parent /mentor hates us or more they expect,
just because they love us more,perform more  and want us to be perfect !!

the sweet souls leave /hurt us not because they  don't love us anymore,
they do so just because to make us strong,independent and make us capable to reach our shore!!!

and finally,
life is not a sorrow  and a dark night all the way,
but a hope of coming new brighter and shiny day!!!! :D

PUREST BOND...!!!!

C'mon kids; come down stairs we are getting late for the school. . .
They are twins, a boy and a girl. They got in the car & mom dropped them, and they reached school just 3 minutes earlier, when the gate was supposed to be closed. . .
 A couple of words they shared with mom,, as she wont be able to pick them back today, after the school so they have to manage with the neighbors aunt to come back home.. And finally they kissed their mom and had a good buy!!
They both went in their respective classes, as they were in different sections.

Some hours latter. . . .
                       The bell rang for the break, and he came out to approach her in the play ground, at the place where they use to have their lunch together,daily. Strange.....where is she?? All her friend were out only she was missing in them.
What happened to her??
 Why she is not out today??
There had been times, when he was late to come to play ground but she use to be on time always!!
Where is she....... ohhh GOD???

And many several questions were kicking his mind,, friends- class teacher, nobody knows where is she??
He ran upstairs in a single breathe, to look her in class room...and here she is...thank GOD!!
But, what happened??
Her face was red, and it seems to be if she'd cried for a long??

What happened?? He asked while wiping out her tears, kissed her, hugged her to make his sis. alright.... But she continued crying??
Can you please tell me, what is the reason behind your cry??
Somebody broke my water bottle, my brother :( , it was my favorite among all mamma had bought for me. (She loves tweety a lot, and the water bottle had a sticker with the moods of tweety- the cartoon character.)


I'll bring you another one, please don't cry my dolly. I can't see you cry. Though, at times I fight with you but this takes my heart away. Believe me, I'll bring a new water bottle before the day ends.
Promise??
Yes,, I do my lil'sis.
And they had their lunch, and came home latter in the evening. Changed dress & had some snacks and this was the time to play.

Hurreeeeyyyyyy,, He shouted!!
You go my bro.. I'm not feeling well today. I'll stay at home.
Do you really think,, I'll go out with friends while leaving you alone here??

But, my water bottle broke down today :( :( she shouted...
(And tears again busted out from her eyes,, this time louder than before).
 He was successful to make her alright somehow, and took an excuse from her & went out.... and he was back again in a while with a bag, and an appearance of something in it.

He took her hand and said- come with me.....
But where are we going??
That's none of your business... my cutie piee.... Juz come with me....

They locked the house, he took his bicycle out and asked her to sit behind.
Where are we going, brother??
It's a surprise for you, just sit with me and I'll bring your happiness back....
And he started, but they are not moving on the way to playground???

Bhaiyya, we are on the wrong track. The play ground was on the right hand and you took a left.
He didn't answered anything this time, and she can read his mind that something was going on, in it!! 
He stopped in front of a shop, parked his bicycle there.... she was quite, and very surprised. He went inside and she kept following him.

He opened his bag, took his Piggy bank  out and placed it in front of the shopkeeper.
His eyes moved around and locked in a while.... He pointed his finger on the same water bottle, and asked the shopkeeper if he can buy it..with all he had in his piggy bank??
The shopkeeper returned the piggy bank to the boy after taking the amount of water bottle.


He turned around. she was quite still??
He stepped forward and before he could say anything she hugged him tightly.... This time tears have a miracle in them, as some thing magical happened to her.

YOU ARE THE BEST BROTHER SHE SHOUTED LOUDLY...........!!!!!!!!!
(Still holding him tightly.)
I know you've collected all this coins to bring a new toy car, and you sacrificed your happiness to see me smile :) . This was the best thing someone ever did for me.
And she moved a little back to kiss him,, But what she saw was ironical. This time he was crying louder than her and before she could understand anything he said-


I can't see tears in your eyes, you are the best gift GOD had blessed me with. You have shared all my joys & sorrows either it was the first day of school or when mom shouted on me, when we returned home late after playing. You were with me every moment, you are my best friend, my dolly.
And it hurts me a lot when i see you cry. I can do anything to see this cute smile on your face.... :) And she hugged him back again....

And they went back home, with all tears replaced with joy they shared some moments before...

Some Relations can never be replaced........ They get stronger, by the warmth of every time they stay together......

Thank you.... GOD,, that you've blessed me with an elder brother.... & Thank him too..... for every time he supported,, wiped my tears and helped me to bring my smile back.... :)

I'VE LEARNED.....

Several years ago, Maya Angelou was interviewed by Oprah Winfrey on her 70+ birthday. Oprah asked her what she thought of growing older.
She is such a simple and honest woman, with so much wisdom in her words! Maya Angelou said the following:
  • 'I've learned that no matter what happens, or how bad it seems today, life does go on, and it will be better tomorrow.'
