be the toppers!get A1 grade. else no one will ask you anything. you will have no value and no success..............................................................!!
most frequent statement we hear. but the question arises does marks matter or ones talent?
in nursery classes we are taught in very creative way. we are given boxes to arrange, arrange alphabets, rhymes are shown to us in very creative way often by displaying their videos on screen. but as we grow, this creativity is caged. students are forced to cram and too much efforts are done to make child topper/pass in exams.regular tests are taken. many students take/have to take good marks and often they perform well in exams.
finally, by whatever means in final exams students are passed. some are toppers some are mediocre's while remaining ones may be passed at the verge. all of them are given certificates mentioning their percentage.
moving out they are given jobs or admissions in higher studies on the basis of their marks!( as i have heard)
now my questions are:-
1.is being at top important? does percentage really matters?
2. students can cram and do well in exams/tests and get good percentage. but wheres the true knowledge? wheres the talent? wheres the creativity?
so, looking at the question one and present system it appears that yes, getting good percentage is really important. one can do hardwork and get good marks but question 2 takes us to other darker side. cramming isn't the way to get good marks/percentage. we are studying to learn the things forever that cannot go from our mind throughout life. we have to be perfect in something that recognizes our talent and personality . we have to be practical. yes, we need theoretical knowledge but after knowing that yes, this theory is right!
with the coming of CCE system in education, things are changing gradually. children are given opportunities to express, enhance and develop their talents and apart from academics other things are also evaluated and syllabus is somewhat changed along with examination pattern.
CCE is good system for ones development but apart from this there is need of something!!
i am not taking about drawbacks in system or way of teaching.. i am rather looking for a way to learn to creative way. in such a way where things i learn become part of my knowledge forever. where there should be no need to cram rather there should be understanding and happiness in learning and exploring!!
if that is found things can be easier and simpler and obviously when one will understand the things he/she can perform well and get good marks and percentage. i get answers to my questions here.
but at present one question stay still there.if we are educated in such a way where taking good marks in tests/exams is important and cramming is done for all that. then wheres the real education and true knowledge?
is in such case working on ones passion or talent will be right or just cramming and taking good percentage will be important!
?
confused!

Your article seems to me like someone asked to a young man that what is a successful career: A man who says I love my job because it is highly paid. OR A man who says I simply love my job (no matter how much it pays).
